Nebraska State Line

My road trip takes a big turn here. Since the majority of my planned destinations were behind me, but the majorityof the land was ahead. So now that there were long long drives coming up, there would be several overnight drives coming up. The overnight drives help keep the trip shorter, as well cut down on costs with hotels. Sleeping in a hotel is nice, but they proved completely unpredictable when it comes to price and quality. Because of the nature of the trip, it was impossible to make reservations. Even the Motel 6's and similar ones are no longer inexpensive. I did notice that the Holiday Inn Express Hotels always gave you your money's worth, and have no problem giving them a little free advertising. Of course, they weren't always at the right place at the right time, but that's something you have to expect on a trip like this. From here on, mainly because of timing, I only stayed at only one hotel, and that one was overpriced.
So I left Junction City late at night, for the first overnight drive, the third overall. One of the things I did on this trip was to take a picture of each state line that I crossed. When I pulled over at the Nebraska state line, I looked up at the sky, saw all the billions of stars, and just said 'wow!' I have never seen such a clear sky. An hour later I pulled over and slept under the stars.
