On July 4, 2008 I had the opportunity to drive back from North Carolina to my home in California . Instead of driving straight back like I did on the way to NC, I planned a long road trip to see as much of the US as possible. It came out to 31 days, 10,000 miles, and the experience of a lifetime. My main destinations were theme parks, but I made other stops as well. You never know what you will find along the road

The Herbert Hoover Museum wasn't on my list of stops, it just happened to be on the freeway I was traveling on.  Unfortunately, I was about three hours too early, so I took a couple photos of the front and kept going. It's sad that I could stop at a truck stop but not a presidential library, but timing really made the call on this one. There were tons of other unplanned sights that I could only just spend a minute or two at, and if I actually did stop for an appropraite amount of time the trip would have been extended by about ten days.  I was still able to stop at two presidential libraries and other patriotic sights, but I think my rambling here is because this is the only stop where I probably could have waited the few extra hours to pop my head in.
