Enjoying my ginger ale!
This morning I woke up at 4:30 so I could get a shower and then catch my early morning flight for my trip to Boston
. So as in typical Ian fashion, I chose not to take a direct flight because I wanted to earn FF miles....and FF miles I earned! I arrive at Richmond International at 5:30am and my first flight to Washington Dulles was leaving at 6:30... I though I had plenty of time but the ticket agent saw that I was taking 3 flights to Boston and she didn't like it so she tried to put me on a non-stop. I told her I did not want to do that, partly because I was earning an extra 1000 miles for the 2 extra flights but also cuz I was going to stop in NY and meet some friends for breakfast.
So after them sending me to the US Airways counter and then back to United.. I finally got all 3 of my tickets and then headed to security. For some reason the TSA line was really long.. I made it through with about 3 mintues to spare before the flight boarded. Once we boarded, we were in the air within 20 minutes. Within 25 minutes of flying, we arrived at Dulles. I had about half an hour to catch my connecting flight to Laguardia.. I made then one and then sat on the plane for about an hour before we landed. Once I got to NYC, I got in a cab and went to a diner in Queens where I met a few of my friends and had a nice breakfast. Eventually I made it back to Laguardia and caught my US Airways flight to Boston.
Once we finally landed at 2pm, my cousin and my friends we waiting for me at the airport. I got my bags and we headed to my friend Sarah's appartment and then got on the metro and went into town.. This is my first time in Boston and it was really cool to see the city. We went to the harbour first where we caught a ferry/boat thing and took a harbour cruise. It started out really nice because there was a lot of wind..but for some reason, the wind stopped and it got really hot! After that boat ride, we walked for a bit and then made our way around town and went out to eat at Cheers. Apparently there are like 2 or 3 of them in city, but we went to one of them. After dinner we walked around and shopped a bit, and then decided to go bowling. The place we went was near Fenway Park. I was pretty tired and didn't bowl my best.. yes.. thats the excuse I'm giving for my horrible bowling preformance!! Finally we made it back to our B&B to crash. I was exhausted and enjoyed crawling into bed!!
