Our tour began at 12:15pm, so we had the morning to wander around the shops near the dock. We rode the funicular up to the Hotel Frontenac level and took a few pictures in the morning sun.
Our tour bus went east along the river, up to Montmorency Falls. We stopped there only 10 minutes, just long enough to take a few photos. A walk to the falls would take an hour or more. Then we rode about 45 minutes thru slow traffic to a river canyon.
The tour continued across a suspension bridge to a nearby island where we stopped at a winery. The owners gave us a tour of the facilities and we tasted five types of wine: white riesling, a red something, a kir (wine with grain alcohol and black currant syrup), a dessert wine with maple syrup, and the ice wine.
After the tour we took some twilight photos of the city from both shore and on the ship. The evening entertainment was a troop of local musicians and dancers. It was like barn dancing in Ireland with zydeco music.
At 10pm we played a movie theme name that tune and tied for first. We won more monogrammed pens for that. Tomorrow is our second day in Quebec. We sail away at 3pm.
