This blog will capture my adventures in AZ and Cali. But also my preps for the trip. I started this blog October 2 and it will be continuously updatet till I'm back home again on November 30 :o)) Countdown; it's all over... :o( but I had a blast :o)

Wonderful sunrise & some wildlife

Grand Canyon, this historic place who tourists flock to in the thousands every year, and with good reasons. It's such a magical, wonderful place.

This was my second time there, and luckily with more time to spare. And I got my wish – experience the sunrise. :o)

we got to the canyon about 6.45, as the sunrise was said to be just before 7am. Right after we parked the car, some people there made me aware of a deer really close to the parking lot, and he didn't mind us following and shooting pictures. He must be used to stupid tourists I guess... lol

But I got a few good one, even though it didn't seem like it at the time.

Ok, on to get a good spot and watch the sunrise.

sun is starting to color the edge of the mountain
A lot of people had the same idea, even though it was just a mere 17 degrees... Poor Adrian did this for me, and he claimed he was freezing his butt off. LOL

But it was all worth it as we stood there watching the sun come up over the mountains and color the canyon in a red, orange and golden carpet. It was so amazingly beautiful and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

I have no idea how many pictures I took, but it was a lot.. just posted a few a them for you to check out. ;o)

After the sunrise, we decided to see some more of the canyon and drove around for a little while. Drove up to this hotel which had some sort of roundabout in the middle and saw some deer eating grass, They really didn't mind the cars nor the people either. So cool...

Then we headed on and decided to walk for a bit. So we parked the car and found a trail leading down to the bottom of the canyon. Not that either of us was in any shape remotely close to be able to hike the way down, but we could do a little bit. And so we did... it was incredible to see the view, and next time I will hike all the way down. Maybe even spend the night by the great Colorado River that has shaped this amazing Canyon over million of years.

After that we stopped at the Grocery store/gift store and got some souvenirs.

Goodbye Grand Canyon.. for now. See you next time... :o))
