Made it over the pond safely :o)

Waiting for my bag

My journey started 2 minutes from my house. At the bus stop. As I was standing there waiting for my bus, I came to think of my c-cards. I was like, OMG I forgot my cards. SHIT! Lucky for me there was this guy there who agreed to watch my bags till I got back. I had 8 minutes before the bus was due to arrive and I ran like hell. Run upstairs and checked my desk were I was so convinced I put them, but no cards. I'm totally freakin out. I would be so screwd without my cards. But time was running out and I just had to get back to the busstop. Got there with a few mins to spare, but no cards. As I was trying to get control of my breating again, I started to think about WHERE I could have put my cards. I calmed down a bit, and figured if I didn't find them when I got to the airport, I could always ask my Mom to send to me.

The bus came and I was finally on my way. Still a bit unsure about the cards, but happy that it would just be hours till I was in Phoenix meeting Adrian. Tried to sleep a bit on the bus, but my mind was going in all directions. And the busride made me  a little sick as well. I get carsick if I can't see the road infront of me, so sitting back in the bus was not so good. But it went pretty well, and I made it to the airport without any problems. Checked in and could finally check my bag for my cards.. and YAY I found them in the last place I looked.. typical. LOL

So now I had my cards and could really just enjoy the fact that I was embarking on my almost 1 month long adventure. :o) Getting thru security went smoothly and I stopped by at the giftshop and got something for Adrian, Joy and Erin.

The people I will be spending the most time with. Thanks guys for putting up with me..;o)

The flight was on time, and pretty eventless on the trip across the "little pond" called the Atlantic Ocean. I didn't get more then about 3 hours sleep out of the 8 hours flight, so I was pretty beat when I got to Newark. We had been an hour too early, so we had to circle over NY for an hour. Wow, talk about boring.. lol. Anyway; we landed according to schedule, and to my utterly surprise there were line what so ever thru customs. WOW.. that has to be a first.. but then again, it probably depends on what time and day you arrive. I slipped thru customs, had to wait a little while for my bag and then go send it off again. Thru more security and had 1 and half hour to spare before my next flight out to PHX.

Called home to let them know my first leg went well, got something to drink and chilled until it was time to board.

This flight too was on time, and I was on my way again. By now I was soooo tired, I fell asleep and slept for the most of the 5hour flight to PHX. Woke up as we were approaching PHX and was looking forward meeting Adrian.

Getting off the plain went smoothly and as I entered the airport I could see Adrian standing there waving at me. I wouldn't have missed him even if he hadn't waved. He was towering above all others.. HAHAHA.
We met, hugged and went to get my bag.  Didn't have to wait too long for it, and then he took me to the hotel. I checked it, went to the room and freshened up a bit, headed out and met up wit Adrian at a bar across the street from the hotel. We ordered some drinks, talked and watched the president election on CNN. What a night to arrive in the US. History was written that night and it was totally awesome!

After about 2 hours or so, I went back to the hotel to get some sleep, and Adrian went home.

My first few hours in the States was fun and Adrian was just the person I had pictured him to be.... :o)
