First day started way too early...
Woke up at 3.45 AZ time after sleeping for about 3 and a half hours. Damn.. tried to go back to sleep, but it proved hard to do. I just couldn't, so I guess Adrian will have to live with me sleeping a bit in the car on our way to Kayenta. lol..
Anyway; I was up and found USA Today hanging on the door. Read about Obama winning the President elect last night in, and just took life easy. What a start to my vacation. Coming the very same day, Obama makes History. It's indeed a turning point in US politics and I think it's a turn for the better. :o)
As it started to get light outside, I got up and found my cam. Shot some pics out the window, just to show the view. Also got some from the room.
Think I might go downstairs and get myself some breakfast. Adrian won't be here till about 9am, so I got plenty of time.
Don't think I had that breakfast after all. Adrian came around a little over 9 to pick me up. I left the hotel with my bags, and we were officially on our roadtrip. YAY...
First stop was at a nailsalon to get my nails done. Took about 30 mins and cost me 40 bucks including tips. Then we're off to a photo store and I got the lense I wanted, a UV filter and a cleaning kit. Next stop at a mall to buy a cell phone. Got a pre-paid one that cost me 12 dollars and also had to get the phonecard and also the one that would enable me to text.
Ok, so now we were really on our way. First stop we made was at Montezuma Castle... it's gorgeous there.
I was to Montezuma's Well last time I was in PHX and I'm glad I got to see the Castle this time around. If you haven't seen neither, then I highly recommend them both. The Well has some spectacular scenere as well, if you walk pass the Well and follow the trail down a bit.
Then we drove thru Sedona and it was absolutely beautiful there. The scenerey was just amazing and the Slide Rock Nat. park was awesome. Of course Adrian had to push his luck and almost fell in. But it was just ALMOST... hahaha
After the Slide Rock Nat. Park we continued on our way and stopped by in Flagstaff. Got some food and drinks and I also got my little camera. Always good to have a smaller one for the indoory stuff. Think we also got the flashlights for our future walk thru the Lava River Cave. Then we headed to Kayenta. Small place in the middle of nowhere it seemed, but it was nice there and the Kayenta Hampton Inn was decorated in an Indian style. The tables and chairs had Indian patterns and I really liked the fact that it was different from other Hampton Inn Hotels. All the others are pretty much the same, since they are under the same name, but this one was the exception from the rule... and it was awesome.
