We all have a heart for Disneyland
When Big sis asked what else I'd like to do while in Southern California, I said I'd like to go to Disneyland again to watch the fireworks. I've been to two Disneylands already but I've never stayed until the night to watch the fireworks.
Well my big sis and bro-in-law are both theme park persons, they can spend the whole day in theme parks. So off we went on this Memorial day Monday to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. This Disneyland is the first Disneyland to be built and also the first Disneyland I've been to. I could still remember the first time I stepped into this Disneyland three years ago, it was like a dream come true. I felt like I was seven years old. I was so happy. It felt so magical.
So since I've seen most of what there is in Disneyland, we just spent most of the day in California Adventure, the park right across Disneyland.
I had a great time here watching a one hour play of Aladdin. It was really good, I especially loved the actor playing the Genie, his adlibs were hilariously funny. I think this play is something that one shouldn't miss when going to California adventure. Another thing I loved here is the Hollywood Hotel ride, where they said no two rides are the same because they were computer generated and hence the pattern was random. In the late afternoon, we decided to move to Disneyland to have late lunch. We had a very nice sumptous meal and a humungous ice cream called Matterhorn icecream, which was "designed" after the Matterhorn mountain in Switzerland. Then we went to those that I've never tried before, like the Tiki Room, Storybook land, Submarine Voyage (new ride in Disneyland) and of course, the exciting ride, the Matterhorn Mountain.
We also watched the Disney parade in the afternoon, where we met our familiar fairytale friends like Alice and her friends from Wonderland, Peter pan and the gang from Neverland, the Disney princesses and their Princes. In the evening we of course waited to watch the fireworks at Sleeping beauty's castle. After watching it, I thought it was nice but it wasn't what I was expecting it to be. I think they have revised the fireworks because it was too much into lasers and all these techy characters and so it really didn't bring much that magical feeling. I did love Tinkerbell flying though, I think that's the best part. There was also another lights and laser show afterwards which was at the river fountain. This one was nice too, but then I think there was too much emphasis on the evil side on the story plot that I think young kids would find it scary rather than amusing.
Anyways, I had a fun day. It's always good to keep the child in us. We may age day by day, but the heart will remain forever young. :)
