the night before was just a girls' night at the pisco place ;)
Some time ago, John and I started to be in touch. He let me know he was coming to Peru and had different plans for his time in the country, but he would arrive earlier than the rest of his group, 2 and 1/2 in advance... and I offered to help him "killing" the extra time he had for Lima. I'd take care of him and show around my home town :)

Since he'd be in Lima for the weekend, I'd have time to show him around and he'd also join me to a bbq and meet other TB friends. I had birthday on Tuesday and was celebrating it everyday of the week, hahaha. I was hopping I'd take things easy on Friday, but I ended up going out with some highschool friends - a girls' night. Nevermind, I had already made a plan for his first day in Lima and according to the plan I picked him up at 10:20am.
El Olivar park - one of the largest and most beautiful parks in Lima :)

It was nice meeting him in person, finally! It was Saturday, so the business area was empty and I could drive without any problem, yay! We visited a Pre-Inca Pyramid aka "Huaca" which is located in the middle of the business area. Then we drove to another area and went to a museum, one of the biggest and nicest in the city, since they have a good collection and showed you the whole history of the country. I really liked the last part of the exhibition, related to the last 20 years of our history and the problem with the terrorism. This gave me the opportunity to explain John about our recent history.

We were ready by 2:30pm and were getting hungry. So we moved to another area of the city to get some cebiche, yay! Of course if you are in Lima, having fresh fish and seafood is a MUST! Furthermore, we wanted to have something light, since we were attending to a bbq later. After a delicious meal, we went to Barranco to get a nice view and walked around the area. Next stop was the supermarket to get some sausages and drinks for the bbq. But before going to the bbq I needed to stop at home, to leave my car and get ready.

This was a long day, we visited 5 areas of the city! But the day wasn't over no no no. Party was about getting started and this would be a looong one, yay!
