a postcard given by the odd old man, hahaha
Yesterday I got a PM from Silan, who just arrived to Lima with a friend Janelle, who's also a TB. That wouldn't be a surprise, but I found so hilarious the subject of the message: Food!!! hahaha. Silan wanted me to recommend them a place to have some Peruvian food. I gave them some suggestions and also my phone number and MSN to be in touch. Maybe we could meet the day after and so we did.

I arrived to the church in Miraflores, what a surprise, and waited for the 2 girls. I have seen some pics of Silan, but no one from Janelle, anyway it wasn't hard to recognize them. The 3 of us looked to each other a bit unsure, but finally we smiled and recognized, hahaha.
Janelle, Silan & Yadi - happy girls!!!
It was their first TB Meeting, yay!!! Ok, where to go now? They asked me for the fountains, which is beautiful, but it's not so close and traffic is always a problem - I was driving... But I could show them around anyway, we can visit another part of Lima and so we did. We drove to Barranco - the bohemian area of Lima.

Silan and Janelle were recently in Ecuador, Galapagos to be exact. And I'm going to Ecuador soon, so I asked them about a few tips in Ecuador, like weather in Quito, etc. There was an old guy, who works in a restaurant in the nearby who started to talk about Barranco, it was a long speech. I didn't know how to tell him that the girls didn't understand what he was talking about and if he could stop, hahaha. He just wanted us to go to his restaurant, pfff. While we were walking around Barranco, we were chatting about our travel experiences and current lives. Janelle recently moved to the Philippines. Ok, it was getting a bit late, so better go and get something to eat. We could stay here, but I asked the girls if they tried the appetizer's plate I mentioned in my message and since they didn't do it yesterday, we went for it!

We went to Larcomar, the mall on the cliff. They were there the night before, but almost missed it. They were expecting a mall on the surface, but just had to check below, hahaha. We found a nice table at the terrace and got some pisco drinks to start. Silan was wanting to taste the famous Pisco Sour and since Janelle wasn't sure about the egg, I recommended her to order the chilcano (pisco & ginger ale), while I got another Pisco cocktail. Then we ordered the Peruvian Appetizer Platter and a salad to share. Food was delicious and the company was the best! We all like TB very much, hahaha. I know I'm more active than them, but I think they would become more active after this trip, hehehe. Actually, Silan is attending to a Meet Up right after going back home.

We left the restaurant and almost caused a traffic chaos when we wanted to get a pic, hahaha. Finally we did and I will wait until Silan posts it in order to "steal" it, hehehe. The girls might be doing the Inca Trail right now. I'm sure they are enjoying it. So bad, I wouldn't be in town when they stop in Lima in their way back home, I'll be in Ecuador, yay!!!

Hope to see them in Vancouver (Silan) or in Philippines (Janelle). Girls you know, you'll always have a friend in Lima. See, I also meet girls :)
