Megan, Yadi & Jered
And everything started with the picture of an Empanada, haha. A comment to one of his pics was the beginning of Jered's plans to visit Peru. He's living in Chile now and Peru was always part of his dream destinations. I started to help him with some tips and ideas and he told me he'd come to Peru soon and would like to meet while he's in Lima. Of course I'd love to do it too! He'd keep me posted about his arrival. I wasn't expecting him until next week when suddenly I found an email with this subject: "Yadi, I'm in Miraflores!" OMG, he's already here. Let's organize a Mini Meet Up! He came with a friend and I asked Mal to join us.
awwwwwwww - my rose...
:)

We agreed to meet at 6pm in front of the church in Miraflores. I arrived a bit early and Mal was already there. I thought I saw Jared, but wasn't sure and since it was a bit early, maybe I was wrong. Then we saw this guy and his friend walking away. Ok, they weren't Jered and Megan. A couple of minutes later my cell phone rang it was Megan! OMG! The guy and the blond girl we saw at the beginning were Jered and Megan, haha. It was so nice to meet Jered - finally and the funniest thing was that if he came to Peru a bit later we'd have missed each other since I might have been in DC. I said it would have been funny, because Jered's hometown is DC! So he'd have been hanging out in my hometown and I in his, uffff. So glad we were able to meet in Lima. The 4 of us decided to go to Larcomar for a drink and grab something to eat.
Jered, Megan, Yadi & Mal - Salud!!!
It was Monday, so Mango's was the choice. They have Happy Hour :)

We arrived to Larcomar and took a couple of pics. Some children were surrounding us, trying to sell us candies, roses, chiclets. I saw Megan bought a rose and she gave it to me, her new Peruvian friend - awwwww, so sweet!!!! Jered has been in so many places and he was telling us how different the places are and also about the security in the different airports, uffff.

We went to Mango's and took a sit outside, but it was too windy, so we moved inside. Once we were there I asked for the Happy Hour, but it would start at 8pm and it was still 7:15pm. No problem, we'd have the food first and then we'd order our drinks. When the waiter came with the platter he told me we could get the Happy Hour, even though it was still 7:30pm, great! Well, they have to be nice to a regular customer ;)

Megan & Jered got Caipirinhas and the locals (Mal & Yadi) got Maracuya Sour.
first drink at Tayta, haha
Why didn't they get a drink with Pisco? Well, since the very beginning Jered and I were talking about having a contest with Peruvian and Chilean Pisco. Jered brought a couple of bottles of Chilean Pisco. So they will wait for the contest first. When will the contest take place? Check the next entry of the blog ;) Well, back to the story. We were just chilling out and having a good time. We were talking about the similarities and differences between Peru & Chile, haha. It was so fun. And well, it was time to decide where the big contest would take place, mmm. The contest would involve the pisco and also the empanadas, mmm. The place should allow us to take our own liquor plus we were quite a large group. Other Jered's friends would arrive later to Lima. Hey! I had the perfect solution: "Yadi's land!" And that was the answer to our questions, haha.
Cheers!
Mal and I would take care of the Peruvian Pisco and empanadas, while Jered and friends would supply the Chilean version of Pisco. That would be so much fun... can hardly wait.

Well, it was getting a bit late and the guys haven't slept almost in 2 days! So we went back to their hostel and said good bye. Mal & I would go to Tayta - again, haha. Jered wanted to wait for the rest of the gang and depending on how they felt, they might join us to Tayta. Ok, we'll see. Tonight Tayta had a promotion in cocktails. We went upstairs, got a confy sofa and ordered our drinks. We started with the "Sex On the Beach" while we started to talk about the future contest, haha. Then we had another drink called "Mucha" while the musicians started to perform. We kept on talking and enjoying the music. This time we changed the subject and ordered another Mucha, haha. It was almost 1am and I started to feel a bit tired. So we decided to leave.

Tomorrow, actually later, the big contest would take place at Yadi's land, so better have everything ready for it, haha.
