Hanging out with somebody wanted by the Interpol, not scary at all - so much fun!!! :)
January 14, 2009
Jered, a TB who's living in Chile, told me he has a friend (Adam) in his way to Chile, but would stop in Lima for a couple of days and asked me if I'd mind hanging out with him, mmm. Well, Jered, don't you know me? of course I'd love to do it! I guess my exact words were: "Any friend of yours is mine." Then we were introduced online. Adam even joined TB, he was getting ready for his travel. We were in touch since then and agreed to meet once he arrived to Lima. He arrived in the morning and we met around 7:30pm.
I went to his hostel and I recognized him inmediately. I haven't even say a word, when he gave me a hug and said: "Yadi! finally I meet you!" OMG! This is something amazing, somebody talked before me, haha. Jered told a lot of things about me to him. Wow! Now I had a challenge, to be better than he expected ;) We sat and started to chatt. Haha, this boy is really something. Since the minute he arrived to Peru, adventures started. First one: when he was clearing customs, the agents asked him to follow them and double check his passport. Apparently he was in the list of Interpol's "Wanted". What? Well, there is someone with his name who is wanted by the Interpol. Well, this wouldn't be a big deal, but the agents didn't speak English. Thanks to google translator, they could communicate and solved everything. Yes, internet is our friend :)
Adam is really friendly and talks to everyone, so do I, hehe. He was introducing me to everybody at the hostel. I think his line was: "She's my friend Yadi, the funnest girl in Peru!" So sweet! Thanks!!! People at the hostel were getting ready to go to the Fountains Park in downtown. I didn't have plans for sure, just going to Tayta and walking around Miraflores while it was early. But Adam has already done that by his own early and also the fountains are so beautiful. I asked him if he'd like to go, and his answer was: "It's up to you, you are the leader!" Awwww. Well, we joined the group and went to the park. As I expected, he really liked the fountains.
It was picture time and we both like to take funny pics, haha. We were just walking around, but first of all: restrooms! Now we could enjoy the fountains, haha. It was a bit late, so the park wasn't packed and we could visit the different fountains without any problem. Adam was saying he wants to come back, but this time ready to get wet, haha. The rest of the group were going to the other park, but we were tired and getting hungry. .. I called them and let them know we'd go back to Miraflores and we'd meet there. They were thinking about fixing some pisco sour at the hostel.
We took a cab and went to Miraflores. First I was thinking were to get food, but we ended going straight to... Tayta! Party time! Well, it was my duty that Adam tasted the empanadas and pisco sour in Peru before he does it in Chile, hehe. The place was getting packed, but we found the perfect spot in the other room. It was almost private with an incredible view of the City Hall and church of Miraflores. It was Wednesday, so I ordered one of the Cuzquena promotion. It was Adam's first Peruvian beer, yay!!!
There was a lot to talk about. Adam has been traveling quite a lot because of business and before that he did a world round trip, awesome!!! That might have been so much fun, haha. We were having a great time, when I noticed the band would start performing soon, so better move to the main room. But we didn't go far. We stopped next to the bar, haha. Ok, time to try the Pisco Sour! Verdict: He liked it and got a second one, haha.
Oh! we have been having so much fun, that we forgot about the food. No problem! We found empanadas in the menu. Yes, Jered, empanadas! They weren't the real ones, the big ones. They were the mini version, but were tasty, hehe. We still have to try the real ones, hehe. Now we moved to the main room. We found a small table free. We sat there and were enjoying the music when we saw the big cozy red sofa free. We didn't think twice and moved there, haha.
Yes, it was so comfortable here... and we were getting tired. It has been a long day for both of us, Adam traveling and me working... and tomorrow would be a long day too. I had to wake up early, so better leaving. It was around 1:30am when we left. What about the rest of the group? No clue! They didn't call us... not sure about the plans for tomorrow, probably meeting another friend... the only thing 100% sure was meeting again and having more fun. Adam's adventure in Lima was just getting started...
