Friday night in Lima, get the party started :)
January 16, 2009
Well, after all it wasn't so bad we couldn't meet last night. We'd need the energies we saved, since this night would be a long one, hehe. Everything started early. I arrived to Adam's hostel around 7:30pm. He was there chatting with a Polish guy. I joined them and we ended talking about Russia and Russian culture, hehe. It was an interesting conversation. He was flying back home that night, so he couldn't stay long...
Days ago Adam and I were planning going to Barranco to party and today I talked to some friends and they'd be in Barranco too, yay! Furthermore, people at the hostel were thinking about going to Barranco too. Cool, the gang was getting bigger and bigger. But it was still early to go to Barranco, not even 8:30pm. Well, the guy from the hostel, Pedro, asked me if I could be in charge of the hostel for a while. He'd go to the store to buy some coke to fix "Cuba Libres", haha.
It was around 9pm when we moved outside. We were just chilling out in the patio when Pedro came with drinks for everyone. At this point we were 5 people: Harry (Dominica Rep), Tim (Ireland), Adam (USA), Pedro (Peru) & me. Yes, an international crowd and yes, I was the only girl :P We were thinking about playing cards first, but Pedro came with "Jenga". This was something new for me, of course I have seen this game before, but never played it. Well, there we go and ladies first ;)
Things were easy at the beginning, but it started to become difficult, mmm. The game lasted quite long... until... but it wasn't me, hehe. For the 2nd game, we had more players, even an engineer :) This time we were 10 people, everyone so focused on the game, haha. Then I got a call from Jesus! By the way, Jesus is the name of a friend, haha. He and Rom were already in Barranco. We'd join them later. The game lasted almost until 11pm.
Now we were ready to go to Barranco. We took 2 cabs and drove to Sargento Pimienta, one of Rom's favorite clubs. The place was crowded, but there was no line to go in, yay! There was a band playing that night. I was looking for my friends and found them in a corner. They asked me to bring my new friends with me. Oh! I don't think they were expecting me arriving with 8 people, haha. It was so nice to meet Rom and Jesus. Rom would leave Lima soon, so this would be the Pre Good Bye party, haha. We were just enjoying the music and having fun there.
We were having fun, but the guys wanted to check other places and also see the famous boulevard in Barranco. They wanted to listen some latin music too. So we left Jesus and Rom and moved. We went to a small pub there. We found a table on the roof and were chatting for a while, now it was time to dance, hehe. So, we went to the dance floor. The place was packed and you could barely move. It was past 2 am when we left this place. Pedro had to work tomorrow - actually later. The group missed some members, but got new ones too :)
Ok, we wanted to keep on party but where to go now? Well, Yadi was the guide, so Tayta was top of my list, haha. But I wasn't the only one suggesting it. Adam wanted to go back to that place too. It was almost 3am when we arrived there. We found a free table over there and by the time we arrived, there was already a band playing, hehe. We were just chilling out there. This would be Juan's last night in Peru, actually in South America before flying back to the States and back to work. Which better way to spend it than partying in Lima?
We stayed there, enjoying the live music and new friends until almost 4am... I was getting tired, was time to go back home...
