Another Mini Meet Up at... Tayta!!!
January 7, 2009
I'm always going with TB's to Tayta, but I didn't do it with Lance first time he was in Lima... So this was the time to fix it, hehe. Furthermore it was the Centimos' night!!! Which means you'd get 2 beers for the price of one + S/.0,01. Hehe, the trick here is that this cent's coins are difficult to get, but I had plenty of them. In fact I still have tons. Furthermore, Lance was saving 2 coins since last time he was in town, lol.
I picked up Lance around 6pm and we drove to my house. I know how important is the internet for him, hehe. So, while he was chatting, browsing, etc., I was just getting ready. Keeping on our trying new things duty, Lance would try his first non traditional meal overseas, haha. I wouldn't drive that day, so we'd go to a nice Chifa (aka Chinese place) near to my house. His verdict: this was the 2nd best Chinese he ever tried. I felt glad/proud about that, since the very best was one prepared by his former Chinese students, hehe. We were enjoying a delicious meal with Inca Kola, of course, while he was telling me he really liked downtown. He followed my instructions. Good student! There was just a bad thing... his camera didn't work! Oh no!
I called Sheree and we agreed to meet in Miraflores, where? In front of the church, haha. Before going to Miraflores, we stopped at my house and left the leftovers for Gunther :) And in order to make this experience complete, we drove with a bus, haha. During the morning I contacted Ana Maria, also a TB. I met her at Lima's airport and we had a blast in Cusco, since then we have been trying to meet in Lima and this was the perfect opportunity. You know, the more the merrier...
Around 9:30pm Lance and I met Sheree. Ana Maria called me and let me know she was in her way. Well, she knows Tayta, so she would meet us inside. We went to Tayta and Lance & I ordered the Promotion! The 2 beers, haha. At the beginning the waiter said to me the promotion was over. What!?!? I must have gone pale, because he said: "it's a joke, it's a joke" haha.
One hour later Ana Maria arrived. It was so good to see her. I introduced her to the rest of the gang. We were a TB table and Lance was the only boy, lucky him! Ana Maria ordered a drink and we started to chat. We were just chilling out and relaxing there. We might come from different places, but we all share the passion for travel, plus love to meet people all over the world, yay! We were just having a great time and laughing, besides taking pics, haha. The ones Lance would copy before leaving Lima. Wold is a small place... Sheree found a guy she met in Cusco a week ago, haha.
This would be Sheree's last night in Lima. She was flying back to NYC tomorrow night, mmm. Lance wanted to go to Nazca early next morning and it would be just a full day. I was supposed to join him, but when we talked before I let him know that I wouldn't be able to do it because of work... well, eventually I have to work... He was sad about it, but he wouldn't have been able to go to Nazca either. He'd fly back home tomorrow night too. Sheree and Lance wouldn't fly together, but their flights would leave almost at same time, so they'd be able to hang out at the airport, cool! Sheree was happy that she finally got the exact date of her flight back home and Lance confessed that was the wish he made last night crossing the bridge, so sweet. ..
It was past midnight when a band started to play. They usually have live music here and the guys who were playing that night were talented. We even asked for our songs, haha. Ana Maria and I went to the stage during the break, haha. When the guys were back and playing, we started to dance, with Lance in the middle ;)
Ana Maria's cab arrived around 2am and she left us. We stayed for a bit longer enjoying the music, but decided to move. Well, since tomorrow nobody would leave Lima during the morning, we didn't have to wake up early. Actually, the only one who should do it was me... Nevermind, I'd succeed. Our plans for next day - actually for later - were meeting for doing some sightseeing in Miraflores, lunch, paragliding and shopping. I'd be the host :)
New things Lance did today: Eating Chinese abroad, Drinkin regular Cuzquena & last but not least Partying at Tayta. ;)
