All of us were leaving Lima next day, so it was time to party!!!
November 13, 2008
I didn't have plans for today. I was working during the day and got a message from Mal. He had big news and wanted to talk about it. So we agreed to meet. I wouldn't be doing anything outrageous. I would just go to get my nails done and guess what. Malvin decided to join me, haha. He arrived to my house around 5pm with a present for me, awwww so sweet. I love my new bracelet and it has a story, haha. Mal told me the big news: He's flying to Singapore next morning. What?!?! I couldn't believe that. OMG! I'd miss my Mal so much... pin chui :(
We were talking about having dinner when I got a phone call. It was Jered. He was with Lance, who was back in Lima after 28hrs flying LIM-HOU-LIM, yes so crazy! They wanted to meet us, also Lance got something for me, yay! Everyone was spoiling me :P Since everyone knew my place, let's meet us there! Mal & I would be in charge of the food & Jered and Lance of the drinks. We had a plan...
Around 8:30pm the guys arrived. But there was somebody new: Mick (I think that's his name). He's an Aussie guy, who Jered & Lance met at the hostel. At the beginning Mal & I were thinking about getting junk food, but we were in Peru so, better get some Peruvian snacks, hehe. We had the "cocktail" potatoes (small potatoes), a Peruvian dip, carrots, tamales and seco - a Peruvian dish with beef. What did Lance have for me? Well, when he was at my house last time, he noticed I didn't have a magnet from Houston, although I have already been there, so he got one for me! So cool!!! Well, the long LIM-HOU-LIM day was worth at the end, I got a magnet, hehe.
The guys brought Pisco and beer. That pisco was very good. We all started to chill out and talk about ourselves. Then I realized all of us were leaving Lima the next day. So it was time to have a good bye party ;) Lance gave us a lesson about geography, haha. A potato became the world and at the end he ate it :P Jered & Lance were telling us about his further travel plans. They all sounded awesome. Mal was explaining why he was leaving Lima so sudden and what future plans he had.
Gunther became the center of attraction at some point haha. He was spoiled by everyone and he enjoyed it! Mick was supposed to stay in Peru and go to the north, but Jered convinced him to go to Chile and stay with him. Cool!!! I want to go there too... Eventually I will ;)
We were just relaxing and talking about travels, experiences in one word: having a great time.
The night wouldn't have been complete if we didn't go to the HQ, haha. Mick was the only one who wasn't a TB and after this meeting he'd join the site. At least I hope so, haha. Lance was checking his mail and reading what I wrote about the "Pisco & Empanadas" night, so many fun memories... and we will have more, since he's coming back to Lima Dec 13th, yay!!!
Suddenly it was almost 3am! It was time for them to leave. Jered & Lance had a flight at 7am, Mal's was at 10am and mine was at night. But it was late and we needed to catch up some sleep. Well this meeting was totally unexpected and turned to be a really fun one! We all had a blast and I think this was the perfect way to say good bye to Lima. Actually just: "See you later!"
