up to the sound of 100 roosters Esra and I were up at the crack of
dawn. Dam roosters! I made myself get up out of bed and go have some
breakfast and a nice black Lao coffee, before we spend another day on
Back on the boat we were all pretty subdued and hung over, so it was pretty quiet on the boat. Listening to my Ipod, reading my book and enjoying a nice Berocca I eventually started to feel a lot better.
a couple of hours on the boat we stopped at a cave called Pak Ou
At 7pm we all met at the front and headed into town to have dinner and check out the night markets. Matt took us to a restaurant in one of the alley ways, where we had Lao style salads and BBQ meat. It was really cheap and really nice food. As we were eating we were surrounded by young kids waiting for us to finish our meal so they could get the scraps, and as we got up these kids just lunged for the food like it was the first meal in a long time. A bit sadden by this image I was glad to leave.
Walking through the main street we came across the night markets which was all lit up and look magic with all the brightly colored silks, umbrellas, t-shirts, jewelery and so much more. Not really being able to buy anything a group of us decided to go and check out the internet. Later we met the rest of the group back at the pub and called it a night.
