The Opera House
Altough I had a pretty heavy week I woke up this saturday at 7.00 and felt really great. The problem is, Arjen and Diego were still sleeping. Not a real problem because I took some homework with me, so I could work on this. Later Arjen also woke up so we could get a breakfast. Diego stayed at home because he had some things to arrange, we would meet him again later this day.
After breakfast we walked to the Opera House. I made some pictures there, but I made it with a pretty cheap camera I loaned from my sister, so the pictures are not that great. From the top of the Opera House you have a pretty nice view and you can just walk around a little. I like this building very much because of the shape. We also went into Opera House but there wasn't so much to do at that moment.
Viking ship
From Opera House we walked to
Radhusgata and from there we took a bus to
Bygdoy. We had a free bus trip, which was very nice. After asking the bus driver what the price was to get to Bygdoy he replied it cost us 68 NOK. We thought that's 68 NOK each and we only had like 100 left in total. So we told the guy we had to get some more money and we would take the next bus. He told us to get in, we would get a free ride. In Bygdoy we first visited the
Viking Ship museum. It's amazing to see how good these ships still look like, they were like almost 800 years old! Also the construction looked very solid which is pretty remarkable. From the Viking Museum we went to the
Norwegian Museum of Cultural History.
Beautiful old church
I really loved this church on top of the hill which was also very old, but so beautiful! From the Museum we walked to the depart station of the ferry. We then took the ferry to get to the other side of the water again. The ferry took us to Radhus again so we decided to give a call to Diego. We agreed to meet at
Olav Ryes plass to get some dinner. At Radhusgata we first went to a shop because I had to buy a present for my sister who celebrated her birthday today. After that we went to the
Oslo City Hall which was again a great building.
From the City Hall we took the tram to Grunerlokka where we would meet Diego at Olav Ryer plass. We went to this restaurant called Memphis and decided to get a cappucino first, and man I really loved this cappucino!! Due to miscommunication we didn't had dinner here, but Diego did had dinner somewhere else.
City Hall
So Arjen and I decided to go to the supermarket and make some spaghetti ourself at Diego's place. After dinner a German friend of Diego came to his place so we left there to get a drink with the four of us. I don't remember the name of the place we went, but we had a few drinks there. There was also a Romanian friend of Diego who joined us. After the drinks we went to an Irish Pub and had a few drinks again. We also played darts and some pool there and had great fun. It was very nice to meet people from all different countries! We were going home at about 12 o'clock and went to bed then. We needed a good sleep because we had to run a half marathon the next day!
