Last Day in Munich
September 27, 2008
Our last day and Sam said she'd actually spend today with me. I had a shower and washed my hair, narrowly avoiding hypothermia. We got ready and got to the Showgrounds at about 11.30. It was pointless, we didn't even try get in. The beerhalls all close early on weekends as it gets so busy. So we wandered around the showgrounds for awhile, buying up souveniers.
We headed into Munich city for lunch and Sam decided she wanted to go to the Cinemas, sit down and watch a movie. I wanted to go to a bar, where the atmosphere was as lively and down some 'steins, but Sam wasn't keen. Never take a beer-hater to a beerfest, waste of time. So we found a cinema after a long trek and saw a movie screened in English. It was Vin Diesles Babylon AD - didn't make much sense to be honest, don't waste your money!
We wandered back to the showgrounds and mingled amongst the stalls and people, Sam getting agitated as she hates crowds. It was pretty to see, all the colours and people, rides and stalls as the sunset. I wanted to get on the huge ferris wheel to watch the sunset, but unfortunately the line was at least an hour long. We gave up and caught the shuttel bus back to the campsite. We went to the tables to get some chips and me a beer finally!! We met up with Diego and the Spanish boys. Hung out with them playing drinking games for awhile, sam disappeared back to the tent after awhile. It was my last night so I stayed up with the boys for awhile. It was sad to say goodbye to them, they're pretty cool. But I know I've got people to visit if I ever go to Baske in Spain!
