The Elefant Tourguide
The Elefant walk,
I had to get up around 5.30, because I had to be at 6 AM at the reception of my camp... I saw there two more people who will enjoy me with this actvities.... I had a good talk with the people in engles and when I asked were they were from... We had to laugh very hard, because they were also from the Netherlands.... Afther that we talked dutch with eachother! The were a litle bit later and they picked me up with a bus and in the bus there were already people.... During the talk I knew that they were all from the USA.... Everywere USA flags on the caps and T shirts... When we arrived we had a small instruction from a guide..... I talked about the elefant and what the program of the morning was.... Afther the talk around 10 to 15 elefants came in and we got the change to touch them, but the guides and trainers were very strikt.
The Zimbezi River!
.. They said that the elefants are stil bot always safe and that the Asian Elefant is easier! I wich I could stand beside him, because it was different then I expected (See pictures) Afther 15 minutes we had to go on the elefant and I was the only one of the group during this activity.... When I want to drive alone, I had a small elefant, but I wanted the big African one.... I choose to chare the elefant with a other woman from the USA! She was whole different then me.... She want to take it slow and I wanted more action....grrrrrrrrrr!
The elefantwalk was 45 minutes and we stopped nearby the Zimbazi river and we had a nice few! Afther that we took a few pictures and it were no close ups or from up- front... I think they did it for a reson to sale the video and pictures they were making during the trip.
Me on the Elefant!
.. They were very commercieel. Afther the walk we went back and I got the change to give them foods and it was great to do.... It was around 15 minutes and then we had to say goodbye... My elefant was a woman and she had a small baby elefant with her all the time... It was sooooo cute! When we came back I had my breakfast and afther that I wached the video..... I bought one, because I was the only one and it,s nice to look back.... I came back around 11 AM.... I wanted to relax, but I heared that a few people were planning to vised the Victoria Falls.... I went with them....
The Big Victoria Waterfalls moment......
We had a ride to the Victoria waterfalls and it took us 5 minutes to get there! It was a very hot day and I bought some drinks before I went inside! We had to pay to get inside and we had African people afther us.
.. They tryed to sale souveniers to us on the streets... It never stops.... It was like a tropich place, soooo grean... I saw butterflys everywere, but noooo pictures of them... There were a lot of white monkeys there! The moment was there and I saw the first waterfalls and it was beautiful.... I have heard from people from the Victoria that it,s to dry to see the whole waterfall... It had his positive and negative side... At this moment I could make better pictres, because it,s not wet and I could see them good.... The best time was somewere in februar to may..... The rainmoment start somewere in november..... I was happy and I saw also some dry spots.... It was great to be there... It was beautiful and cool, because the rain from the waterfalls.... We stayed there for two hours and afther that we had some lunch nearby the camp.
.... It was around 2 PM when we came back and at 3 PM we had to be ready for the Lionwalk!
At 3PM we got picked up for the Lionwalk by car and almost everybody came to this actvity of my dutch travelbuddy group... When we arrived we got serieus instructions, because it,s a lion stil..... We have to be careful in the back, because he can attac you then.. playfull stuf most be off, like moving camerabags.... He tolt us what to do if the lion is up front and not happy... He said , never run and never clime in a tree.... Also stand stil and look him in the eye.... The two lions were brother and sisters and they were young.... They live in the park and also in the wild, but the trainers from the Victoria falls raised them also when they were baby.
.. They listen to the trainers when he gave comando,s, but stil he said... they are stil Lions who can do there own thing and can react different.... We all had the posiblity to touch the lion, but stil with instructions... Only in the back and when the trainers see when it,s posible...He know the animal and sometimes he don,t like to be touched and they will get mad... That,s what I don,t want in the first place! It was a strange feeling, but realy special being that close to a lion... THey were very playfull togther and it was realy a nice experience... You need to do this when you are in the Victoria Falls......We walked like two hours with the lion and we had 2 to 3 trainers, guides with us. One of them had a gun, but just in case and he will never hurt the lion.... I,m glad I did the actvity, but it,s expensive... The Lionwalk and the Elefantwalk were 90 US Dollars each.....It was worthed all, but you need to know! Afther the Lionwalk we had diner at camp and we talked by the campfire and went to bed!
