Day 11 & Day 12 Shanghai
June 21, 2004
Last day of travel is almost always a shopping day! We're back in Shanghai, so cousins and I spent a day at Luoyang Market, a local's shopping area. Everything is so cheap! Shoes 20 RMB and up? (equivalent to 3.75 CAD) Clothes are even cheaper...and you can bargain anything! Nobody pays tag price...
The only downside is that clothing size is generally smaller, a "large" in China is about the size of a "medium" in Canada, and probably a "small" in the US...so not everything fitted me *sad*. The Asian society is just much more unforgiving for overweight people, that's the dark I know well.
The photo shows a stamp store with a retro communist propaganda style poster. It reads "Must Liberate Taiwan". Oh my god that's classic...so I took this photo as living proof of the political beliefs of an old lady in Luoyang Market.
