Travelling to Siem Reap

As I checked out of the guesthouse to get taken to the busstation I ran into Fiona again who was going to Siem Reap too. We ended up on the same bus again. The busride was far more comfortable than the ride to Phnom Penh although in this bus they also "tortured" us with terrible karaoke again.

At 14:00 we arrived in Siem Reap where we walked around in the area surrounding "bar street" to check the rooms and rates in a couple of guesthouses. Eventually we decided to stay in the Prohm Roth Guesthouse which is on a new road that continues after bar street. The owners there were so nice and also the rooms are very comfortable and relatively cheap.

The owners showed me where and how I could go to see the Angkor temples tomorrow and then I went out to get something to drink and eat. Siem Reap obviously serves a lot of tourists as the town almost has a European feel to it. I bought a new book to read and then ran into two Dutch girls I had met earlier on Don Det. I had a drink with them and then went to bed pretty early, because I want to get up early to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat tomorrow.

Great value in Siem Reap
Big, clean rooms, a very good location near "pub street" and reasonable prices are what this guesthouse offers. But their unique selling point differing them from other guesthouses is definitely their incredible friendliness and service.

After a long, sweaty and fulfilling day wandering around the Angkor ruins you're welcomed back with a big smile and a cold bottle of water. The staff is very helpfull and wants to make your stay as comfortable as possible, helping you with any information or assistance you might need.

The guesthouse has a laundry service, can book tickets and tours and has bicycles for rent.

There are A/C and fan double and triple rooms with cold and hot showers.
