Not much to relay about Kanab. It's a small town, only a few blocks, and offers a few restaurants and lots of motels for the traveler. We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express, which has only been open for 6 months.

This particular Holiday Inn Express is more like a 2.5 star hotel rather than the advertised 2 stars, offering a warm breakfast of eggs, bacon, gravy, and biscuits, along with various pastries, yogurt, fruit, fruit juices, coffee, and tea. The motel is decorated like a lodge, with rustic touches. Karine and Jean were pleasantly surprised at the hotel's comfort. We shared a "suite," which is more like two double beds separated by a small partition from the "living room" that yields a TV and king-sized pull out couch.

Karine had to visit the post office for postcard stamps, and we were greeted at the post office by a couple locals who chatted about who knows what. George gets a kick out of small towns like this where the locals treat others as if they were locals, too. The post office clerk was incredibly helpful, pointing out a postcard stamp with the precise 94-cent postage to Europe.
