Sunrise at Coongie Lakes NP
This morning Glen and I got up before sunrise to capture some photo's of the sun coming up. It was a struggle to get out of bed and Glen had already headed down to the point so I decided to capture the sunrise from a different angle and went over the dune behind the camp.  I found a quaint little sandy cove and setup the camera and tripod and waited.  The sunrise wasn't too bad and back at camp, Glen and I compared pictures.  We packed up camp which would probably be  the last time for this trip thank God, we were now over setting up camp every day. The next two nights we would be staying with our friends Natalie and Maggie in Tibooburra and probably motels thereafter in Broken Hill before getting home on Sunday.

We spent the first hour or so exploring more of the Lakes, it was just so lovely and we could spend days here.  We then headed back to Innamincka to fuel up and get supplies.  At Innamincka Glen made a phone call to check to see if we could use the Bore Track which is a track that you have to get permission to use as its on private land. Going down the Bore Track would cut out about 80 Kilometers by not taking the Strezlecki track.Heading down the bore track was like being back in the Simpson, very sandy, with dunes and low scrub. Half way down the track we encountered a large lizard which we stopped to look at.  We were also traveling through the Moomba gas fields and saw many gas wells.  At one point we crossed a large dry lake and were traveling side by side with Glen.

At the end of the track was a cattle station called Bollards Lagoon where we had to drop $10 into the donation box for use of the Bore track.  Going down the Bore track saved us heaps of time. After exiting Bollards Lagoon we were on the track to Cameron's corner.  Cameron's corner is the marker point where South Australia, Queensland and NSW meet, the corner had a post just like at poepel's. There was also a pub here which was in the Queensland side and we could not continue without first going in for a drink!  After enjoying sometime in the pub which evidently is for sale if anyone is willing to purchase a pub out in middle of absolute nowhere! we continued on over the border into NSW and into Sturt National Park. We still had quite a way to go before getting to Tibooburra and the scenery changed dramatically, after an hour or so all signs of vegetation disappeared as we entered into a vast expanse of red nothingness.

We suddenly felt like we were on another planet, we could of been on Mars! it was an amazing landscape we  just had to stop to admire it.  There wasn't a single bit of greenery in sight just red dirt gibber plains.  As we neared Tibooburra, vegetation started to appear and it became quite green.  We found Natalie and Maggie's house OK as its only a small town. In the evening we all went to one of Tibooburra's lovely historic stone built pubs for a meal, drinks and catchup. This would be our last night with Glen and Gay as they would be heading home in the morning.
