Ever thought about taking a month off, and driving coast to coast? In the summer of 2006 we got to do just that! We traveled from Connecticut to the Pacific and back, visiting as many National Parks and Attractions as we could, tent camping along the way. Here is our story!
Camping Near Niagara Falls
On the second night of our cross-country trip, we stayed at the KOA Niagara Falls Ontario. This was larger, nicer, and had better tent sites than the one on the US side. It is about three miles from Niagara Falls, and easy to get to. There is a regular shuttle to the Falls, and bus tours depart from there in the morning. Plenty of family amenities, such as indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub/sauna, outdoor movie nights, hay rides, mini golf, etc, They have all the services of a modern campground,(store, snack bar, etc.) and accomodate RV's, tenters like us, or they have cabins available for tentless travelers passing through by car. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, and firewood is available at the camp store. A good place to set up "home base" if you are a camping family that will be spending a few days in the Niagara Falls region!
