Flathead Lake in Polson, Montana
I got up early and wandered around the campground, taking pictures of the sunrise over Flathead Lake. This is a part of the country I had never visited before, and I'm glad we came. (On my last cross country adventure, My friend Lee and I went West from Yellowstone to Crater Lake in Oregon, skipping Washington State and upper Montana entirely. One of my main goals of this trip was to spend some quality time in this area)
The weather has been really good to us so far, and today is no exception. When Dawn and Tyler woke up, we broke camp and got ready to continue our journey towards the Pacific. There was a gazebo with a stove and sinks right next to our site, so I put Tyler to work washing last nights dishes, while Dawn took down the tents and I repacked the truck. It's amazing how much stuff we could fit in there and still have room for ourselves! It wasn't long before we were ready to continue our trip west into Washington State, through the upper part of Idaho. This area is mostly farmland, and we saw several "dust devils" in some of the dirt fields, they look like mini-tornados.
