Can't find group cordinator
Scenario - Brought a large group of people onto Carnival Cruise to have a nice 5 day vacation with a few fun parties mixed in between. Won't really go into the difficulties I had before we even got onto the cruise but I will say that I assumed they would be a little more accomodating once we were on the ship. I was wrong.
I get onboard the ship and my group was suppose to have BonVoyage Party about an hour into the cruise. No real hitches there as far as set because they were on top of getting the hor d uerves set up and the drinks circulating. The room was nice but sort of large for our group. I was concerned primarily cause I had not heard from the onsite coordinator who was suppose to be my direct contact. I became a little frustrated when I had to stand in the forever information line to learn that I would have to hunt this young woman down. Finally catch up with her and get a brief tutorial on how to use the sound system. Addressed my first concerned that the space was too big for our party that night and asked for one of the lounges. Now I am not so oblivious to the other activities going on on the ship that I just expected them to just change each venue. But it can't hurt to ask. She told me that it would not be possible but that the room we were in should be just fine.
Later on that night my DJ set up in the same room for the party. Once I was at the party I noticed for one that we did not have the additional speakers we were suppose to have and had to contend with the PA type speakers already set up in the room. Needless to say the sound was horrible the speakers kept squeeling and crackling. Many guest left because they were getting a headache. I was running around looking for the sound tech that they made me pay for to be there the entire time. He had to be paged several times to back to the location address the brightness of the lights and correct the sound. Which was never satifactorily corrected. After several calls I finally got a hold of Elmarie my group coordinator and I explained what was happenng and also that there were suppose to be additional speakers in the room. Only to be informed that she knew nothing of this. She stated that they would be unable to do anything that night but would correct the problem before our next party.
