A fantastically beautiful place
August 12, 2005
Les Baux de Provence is probably my favourite place as far as this trip is concerned. On the drive in we went through really nice pre-alpine landscape and I really do love hills and mountains. The town itself is situated on top of a hill, surrounded by green, rocky hills and little valleys. The town itself is also very beautiful, but unfortunately so full of tourists you can hardly see to the end of a street or path. We still decided to concentrate on exploring the town and then ran out of time and did not manage to see the fortress a bit higher up. So instead we had a look at the church and its famous windows by Marc Chagall.
I really think we really saved the best place for last, just such a shame it is so busy and that we couldn't spend a little more time there.
