My view!
Upon arrival at the hotel, the Keys Mbokomo, I checked everyone in, and made sure they were all happy. My room was great - room 5D - it had a really comfortable double bed, mosquito net, wall fan, en suite bathroom with shower, a balcony, and, as I was soon to find out...the best view in the entire hotel.

We had 30 minutes before our representative, Edita, was going to meet me to discuss the details of the next two weeks. She was a lovely woman, very accommodating and warm. By the time I'd spoken to her, the rest of the group had arrived at the dining room, so we grabbed some lunch. I chose the Tanzanian special which was very nice, then exhausted, we all went to our separate rooms for a nap and shower. I had about an hour's sleep before getting up and getting on with tour-leadery type things, such as filling out the health and safety forms, amd creating the beginning of my report.

As I pulled back the curtains to let the sun stream in, I had the most wonderful surprise. There, right outside my window, was Mount Kilimanjaro. Obscured by trees, but dominating the entire view, it was there. I could not believe it! Soon it was dinner time and we gathered around the table for our first proper meal since we had arrived at the hotel. We all got on really well and there was a lovely atmosphere. We learned more about each other, and had lots of laughs.

We went to bed, ready for a busy day ahead of us working at the Mbokomu School.
