Back in the UK again
June 20, 2006
Well, going back to the UK wasn't easy. Even though I had no idea how much I would regret it in about 2 weeks time. I didn't have to take time off work for this trip, but I did miss one supervision session and when I showed up for the next session a fortnight later my supervisor was surprised. She said "I'd have expected you to stay there!"
Basically, it was a bit of an anticlimax being here rather than where the action was. But I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the amazing party atmosphere that developed. I still can't believe this World Cup got people into football that were never interested in it before. My mother even thought about buying a flag! My mother! can't ask for any more than that from a sporting event :D
