LAST MINUTE SHOPPING
September 27, 2008
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY:
The girls went shopping while I went to walk around Front Street to take photos.
The royal Caribbean “navigator of the sea” was docked.
“H” and I were noticed there was a gain in population of Filipinos in Lahaina. Only because the cruise ship was docked.
The locals are always asking us which island are we from.
“H” finally purchased the “hula girl” outfit
“A” was looking for hoodies for the kids.
The girls did half of their xmas shopping in maui.
I talked on the phone while the girls were shopping.
There were harley’s parked outside the shop.
I was debating to go to the honululu cookie company to buy more cookies.
I wanted to walk further but the girls were getting hungry.
We plan to just cook at home.
It was our last full day in maui.
We did not want to leave.
We plan to drive to “BIG BEACH” to check out the “BEVERLY HILLS” part of Maui.
We wanted to try to watch the sun set as well.

BEST PLATE LUNCHES
I was here back in 2006. i loved it very much. i ordered the "aloha mixed plate". this time i ordered the "hawaiian mixed plate".
the girls and i just left napili bay to go swimming. we wanted a cheap and large size meal. i suggested the aloha mixed plate. it is still an outdoor place to eat. they are next door to the "old lahaina luau". they are the same owners.
"a" ordered the Mahi Mahi Sandwich with sesame seed aioli. which is very good. kinda dry but ok.
"h" ordered the Aloha Mixed Plate, Shoyu Chicken, Teriyaki Beef and Mahi Mahi combination plate. same plate i ordered back in 2006. it also comes with macaroni salad and rice.
i ordered the Hawaiian Plate, Our Most Popular Plate Lunch: Kalua Pork & Cabbage, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Poi, Macaroni Salad, Rice and Haupia. WOW so yummy as ever. however the poi was not pasty, it supposed to be a thick gummy paste texture. it was more watery.
we all shared a "naughty hula cheesecake which is a chocolate kona coffee cheesecake with oreo cookie crust. WOW THAT WAS HEAVEN AND WRONG IN THE SAME TIME. i was not that sweet. i was able to share it.
however, i love it here. i would eat here everyday if we stayed closer. i will definitely come back here again...and i did.
