Queen of Sheba

New York Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

This was kind of an impulse trip, just an extended weekend break in New York. Even though the weather was mostly horrible we fell in love with the city straight away and I can't wait to go back for a bit longer.
The "Queen of Sheba" is an Ethiopian restaurant that we visited during our short stay in New York. It has a very nice atmosphere because you are surrounded by rugs and there are no normal tables. Instead you sit on little wicker stools and have a small, low drum-like wicker table in front of you. The most fun aspect for me was that, as you would probably expect in an Ethiopian restaurant, you eat with your fingers. The food was all very good and I was even brave enough to try some raw marinated beef - it was excellent! Shame we discovered this place half-way into the trip and then didn't go back when we had the chance. I can honestly say I wish there was a similar restaurant close to where I live now.
