Day trip to Honfleur
July 10, 2004
Honfleur is a fishing port in Normandy that I knew absolutely nothing about before going. It really is a quaint, charming little town, complete with a wooden church and lots of colorful Medieval history. As it was just a day-trip that we took, I was afraid that I didn't get to see enough of the town by the time we left. However, a friend of mine from Paris recently went there for the weekend, and it appears that he did and saw essentially everything that I did.
The highlight of the day, of course, was when a girl from my class got "lost" and we had to wait for over three hours to leave because nobody could find her. We eventually gave up and headed home, sure that she had been kidnapped or raped or worse. It turns out she lost track of time, so she found some random guy who was going into Paris that evening to give her a ride because she figured the bus had already left. She was waiting for us in our hotel lobby when we returned that evening.
