First, some observations...
September 10, 2008
After spending a few days in Las Vegas, there are a few themes that stood out:
- People in Vegas will take a picture of anything.
- The more people who are taking a picture, the more who will take a picture.
- Only 20% of people in Vegas actually have a destination. The other 80% exist to get in their way.
- If you have to give away free passes to your club on a Saturday night, it's probably not that good a club.
- The rate at which cocktail waitresses come by the penny slots is inversely proportional to how well you're doing at the time (slowing down to 1c/line and 1 line just to make it to that next rum & coke...)
- Only in Vegas will you sit down for breakfast and have the waiter ask "Would you like anything from the bar?"
- There are three meals/day in Vegas: Buffet, Lunch/Dinner and Alcohol.
- All my Vegas reviews seem to mention Happy Hour.
- The best drink container: hollow plastic guitar. Hmm... lots of these are alcohol-related.
- Whatever your group/theme/identity is, you can find someone just like you in Vegas (that's right all you Nerd/Emo/Farmer/BodyBuilder IT specialists! You too have a convention...)
