The Las Vegas TravBuddy Meet-up was held September 11-14th 2008. It was the first meet-up I attended, and was a great success.

Vegas Observations

A few last observations about Las Vegas (in General) and the TravBuddy Meet-up (in particular):

1. If you have a chance to go to a TB meet-up, go for it!

2. Las Vegas is definitely more expensive than it used to be. I think if they reduced drink prices by 50%, people would drink 100% more.

3. It's incredible how many people will aimlessly wander directly into your path when you are trying to get somewhere.

4. Wednesday nights in Vegas are DEAD, baby! Where the heck was everyone, anyway? (Answer: It's the economy, stupid).

5. The Blue Martini is my new favorite drinking spot in Vegas. I'm going to build one in Michigan.

6. The Star Wars penny slots are still my favorite! Luke, you are my Beee-otch!

7. "The Deuce" will take you from one end of the strip to the other for only $2....in about 84 hours.

8. Only about 2% of people at the pool look good in bathing suits.... unless you call a beer belly overhanging a speedo "hot".

9. Who cleans up all those porn cards that the "tappers" try to hand you on the street?

10. Mel's light-up shoes were hilarious!

Your observations are interesting. Drinks are expensive on the strip and that's why locals don't go to the strip, hence the answer to #4. I thought Blue Martini was lame and a friend of mine had her drink spiked there so I won't go back, there's better places at Town Square. I have heard great things about the Piano Bar at NYNY.

I wish I knew who even allows the 'tappers' to hand that crap out! And as for the bathing suits, you can thank Vegas advertising agencies for making Vegas cooler than it really is. Did you try going to the Palms or Hard Rock pool?

Hahaha! I love these observations Don! The first time I visited Vegas I thought the "tappers" were handing out discount coupons for attractions (hmm...I guess you could maybe call them that!) so I started taking one from each person...then I finally looked down to see what "goodies" I had gotten! LOL I really must have looked like a perv to those people that were watching me scoop up those "coupons"! It was nice meeting you and hope to chat more with you at the next meetup!
