Well, my time back to Vegas started with a road trip with Melanie from Los Angeles to Vegas. We needed to get on the road early as I had a co-worker in town that day we needed to pick up and play tour guide with for a bit. Telling her I will pick her up at 10am was met with an "ok, but can we stop for fro yo first?" WTF?!?! It's 10am!!!!! We had planned to make a couple pit stops along the way which of course were mostly food related (continuing our Guy Fieri tour, what can I say?!?!)
Our first stop was to visit someone in Pasadena at work on our way out which we ended up staying a little longer than intended.
After one of the best hamburgers EVER, we were back on the road and had planned to stop at another place we've both been to, The Mad Greek. Unfortunately, neither of us were even remotely hungry for a gyro so we decided to forego it and eat dinner later on.
We got into town and the first stop was literally the cupcake bakery. We wanted to get my friend Lisa (Lisabrook21) cupcakes for her birthday that just passed since she didn't have a birthday cake (aaaawwwwww). And in the meantime, we also were messaging Melissa (Melissa919), almost giving her a heart attack by teasing her that we had decided to stay in LA a few more days...HA HA. We decided it would be nice to bring her a cupcake too and then we were off back to Mel's house to relax a bit. Unfortunately, my hope for a quiet afternon was ruined with one work call that sent me into a hysterical fit.
Melanie being an awesome friend sensed I needed to blow a little steam off and suggested we go see my sushi chef Hiro since Melissa's been wanting to go there as well.
Poor Melissa, I am not sure she realized what she was getting into. She was intrigued by not ordering anything and just letting him make whatever but she seemed to enjoy it until.........the FISH HEAD! Yes, Hiro made a red snapper fish head and I think Melanie was salivating before the plate was even set down and Melissa turned a nice shade of green. Melanie and Hiro discussed the proper way to eat the eye socket and he was impressed that Melanie knew the proper way, including not eating the actual eyeball.
At this point, I had to keep checking on Melissa to make sure she didn't faint and fall off the barstool and then Melanie and I took it up a notch....Melanie started eating the fish lips and we decided to play around with the fishy's teeth and Melissa's face turned a darker shade of green!! HA HA HA. Once we got the plate out of the way, Melissa was able to breathe again and we resumed eating normal entrees for the rest of the time there!!! Hiro got a kick out of Melissa and her fish head phobia - poor thing, I doubt she will ever trust Mel and I again!! LOL.
Hard to believe it was already heading to 11pm and Mel and I were tired from the drive (well, I was tired from the drive...Mel was likely tired from her extended nap in the car on the way) LOL!
Time for bed and another crazy day of work......and the first day of TB festivities - shopping with Dana (Jerseygirl67) and dinner with Dana and Sal (SinCityTraveler) YEAH!!
