aniversary weekend at the new drumossie hotel invernesss
September 5, 2008
Picked up by an old blue and gray rolls royce to take us to the hotel , unfortunaltly the wine said to have been provided in the car was not there.
Room lovely , they where not able to give us a room with four poster bed , but we did have a king size bed , bathroom was immaculate and shower was huge. Afternoon tea was yummy , a bit excessive silver tea pots , fresh pancakes and a selection of cakes and vanilla cream. No proper bar , just had to find a waiter. Dinner was amazing , I had pea soup , vennison and panna cotta yum yum. We then met with the chef to discuss personalised meals for the following night. Settled into bed , sound asleep then at 02.30 our phone rang , some on had dialled our number by error looking for another room , then there was some noise for a while whilst a wedding party appeared to be carrying on in the rooms next to us
Im so glad that our breakfast was included in the price as it would have been extosionate for breakfast and it wasnt that special , £12 for a bland buffet of the usual cold items , and £ 14 for cooked items , if you were in my house and you didnt want n item on you plate i woukd put and extra of what you do like on. Hubby didnt want bacon or mushrooms so his plate looked empty. In total we would have been nerly £60 for breakfast.
Not much to do during the day so we took a taxi to the cinema. Went for dinner which was amazing, figs wrapped in parma ham , smoothie , quails egg ,sweet potato and pepper soup , steak with goats cheese and black pudding , followed by pre dessert , then a selection of strawberries and chocolate desserts. We were under the impression that there would be piano music on second nite , but that was not the case.,
