View from Varkala Cliff....

after a week in the ashram i took a 2 hour journey north to the beach town of varkala, to relax and contemplate what i just learned. i also couldn't wait to eat some different foods, the ashram food, although very good, began to wear on you after awhile. the littel touristy town of varkala was exactly what i was looking for. i was intending on spending about two days there, but somehow the little town sucked me in and i ended up spending 5 days.

the town is positioned on these cliffs that look over the arabian sea, there are two tiny spots where you can walk down and go for a swim. it was pretty peaceful here as well and the people were incredibly friendly. it was off season, which was a good thing, since the place is probably swarming with tourists in season. because there weren't a ton of people, you got to know the locals that worked there, i had my place i had breakfast, my spot for afternoon fresh juices and i hopped around to different places for dinner. it was great and i didn't want to leave, which i am finiding has been a reoccuring theme to everywhere i have visited in the south.
