It's almost as if you've stepped into a separate kingdom
§ Kayaking down the
§ In a two-person kayak, it was still quite a workout………used muscles I forgot I had…..hadn’t kayak for a good 2 years
§ A mile hike to a waterfall……mosquitoes, hens and roosters galore littering the way……..hens and roosters??? Hiking using the $5 dollar retro slip-on shoes I bought at Payless (in replacement of my ACG that I packed in my luggage)….not bad, didn’t slip or fall in the muddy woods
§ And then another mile back to the kayaks
§ The paddle back to the pier was three times the workout after hiking 2 miles: dealing with the traffic on the riverbend, upstream currents, strong winds, and the beating sun…. .the guide had to double back for some friends just because of those conditions. It was quite a rigorous morning, though it wasn’t the struggle I thought it would be
§ Onto tubing…….hmmmmm, what the heck is that exactly
§ Ahhhh yes…….a lazy ride down an old sugar plantation canal waterway while passing through some tunnels, which is what made it fun and interesting, otherwise, it could be easily overlooked
§ The tubing ended in a watering hole, where a late lunch was set up
§ I have never eaten SO MUCH turkey sandwich in my life! This would be the 3rd day for a turkey sandwich lunch………and twice just this day!!!!!!!
§ Blossoming Lotus restaurant in Kapa’a, a vegan restaurant…..nice, and that’s saying a lot coming from a meatatarian, haha!!! And finally had coconut juice…….there wasn’t a whole lot of vendors throughout the island, which was baffling…..or when we do see one, it’s normally closed
§ No contact with the airline baggage claim
