We then hopped on the train to Monaco. I was really excited, as I've idolized Grace Kelly ever since I was a little girl. My mom, sister, and I are huge fans of Princess Grace! I remember seeing pictures of her and thinking she was the most glamorous woman I had ever seen. I would watch her movies as often as I could, and she is definitely my inspiration when it comes to fashion...very classic and feminine. Monaco is hosting a huge event this summer/fall called "A Celebration of Grace.
Anyway, we first went to Monte Carlo to see the casino.
We didn't stay there long and then we walked over to Monaco-Ville to see the Palace. It's a bit of walk, and then you had to climb all these stairs!!! We also visited the cathedral to visit Princess Grace and Prince Rainier's tombs, so that was a little sad. There were also so many boats and yachts in Monaco that you couldn't help but marvel at all of them.
We were getting bored so we decided to go back to Nice. We decided to take a different route to the hotel from the train station, and of course it was shorter and a whole lot nicer (neighborhood-wise).
Dinner was definitely one of the best dining experiences on our trip. Amazing!!!
It was our last night in Nice, and I was actually quite sad to leave. We were going to Paris next, so I can't really complain, right? I had a fantastic time in the French Riviera, and I liked it more than I ever thought I would. I remember telling one of the locals, "We love it here...we don't want to leave!" We went to a lot of places on this trip, but the French Riviera definitely ranks high up there in my favorite places. Au revoir for now..but hopefully not for long!
