Pismo Beach
South along the coast just about 25 miles is Pismo Beach, a touristy beach community where many people from inland visit to cool off and surf, swim, fish and just enjoy themselves. And at one place you can even take your vehicle out onto the beach and drive for a mile or two. We didn’t do that ourselves, but watched as one young driver found out that staying on the hard packed sand is a real good idea. It took a much larger four-wheel drive pickup and a good chain to pull him free. It even seemed like the seagulls and pelicans flying over thought it was funny to watch.
We walked out onto the pier and watched as the young surfers paddled out, waited for the right wave and tried to catch a small curl, usually with little or no success. And the people fishing from the pier were having little luck also. It was just nice to be able to look at the ocean, watch the people and relax.
But we knew that soon we would have to be back in our vehicle and onto a corridor before our time machine finished our escape. And sure enough we hadn’t been in the vehicle but a few minutes and we heard the whoosh of sound that signaled the end of our ride and we came out the other end of our time machine.
