British Birthday Party
May 25, 2007
Today I also went to a birthday party of a girl I had a class with. Daniel brought me so I wouldn't be alone. I learned some interesting bits of British birthday customs. We played this game where there is some kind of gift that is wrapped in many layers of wrapping paper, and you all sit in a circle and pass it around the room until the music that is playing stops, and whoever it lands on has to unwrap one layer and fulfill some often embarassing challenge set forth by the birthday girl. Whoever gets to unwrap the last layer gets to keep the gift. Hmm. They were all VERY surprised that I had never played, or even heard of this game.
I may not have made great friends with everyone I met in England, but I think that making a few friends for life is something to be truly thankful for.
