Cave Adventure!

Just less than 2 hours away from Washington DC, under the earth, lies the Luray Caverns. Today, after breakfast, we'll drive here and arrive before noon. The caverns were discovered in 1878, just one day before your birthday - August 13th. Have you ever been in a cave? It's really an amazing thing to do.
The temperature in caves never change - this one is always 54 degrees F., which is 12 degrees C.
The tour of the caverns lasts about one hour, and photography in the cave is encouraged, so there is no problem with that.
After our cave adventure, we can get back on the road and head to North Carolina, and Andi!
