Salta to San Pedro De Atacama bus trip

We caught the bus from Mendoza to Salta and expected to spend a couple of nights there but found we could either catch a bus to San Pedro at 7am the next morning or wait until Sunday. So we decided to enjoy ourselves at the free hostel asado (all you can eat grill plus all you can drink wine, it was a pleasant evening!) and then get the morning bus. Turns out it was the nicest bus ride we've had so far on our trip: we were fed, the films were good and the scenery was dramatic - huge canyons, llamas, cacti.... although Bridget missed most of it sleeping (picture attached)! The only issue was the high altitude at the border crossing which made Bridget turn bright red and nearly throw up, she was a big girl though and refused the oxygen on offer.
