3 months attempting to see as many of the highlights of South America as possible. Starting in Ecuador and finishing in Machu Picchu.

Horseriding near El Calafate

After being priced out of riding near Buenos Aires (guess we weren't the only people who wanted to gallop over the pampas!) we finally managed to get ourselves booked on a half day ride on Cerro Frias followed by an asado (argentinian BBQ).

To be honest it was more a case of horsesitting than riding as we just plodded along in a line but the scenery was lovely so it made for a really pleasant morning and the occasional blast of bitter wind did an excellent job of clearing our hangovers! After all the strenuous activity we were served the asado - big pile of chicken and beef with pumpkin, onion and potatoes followed by rice pudding. It was definitely one of the better grills we've had in Argentina and the rice pudding was yummy!
