We're back and it feels like we've never been away, Adventure Rat, the amazing haggling one, managed to knock our room rate down again at the lakeside guesthouse we were at before ......and we've got a nicer room, HONK HONK SUPER SAVER ADVENTURE RAT POOP POOP!!!!!
So as I said in the previous blog those bad boys down in shinoukville tried to poison me, so I spent the first day back here lying in our pit sweating buckets, looking pale ( bucket, pale seems to be a container theme happening ) and making repeated trips to the toilet,,, no make that the can ( number three in the container theme !!!) every half an hour, Adventure Rat cut down on the adventuring for the day and did her Florence Nightingale thing and by the time it was time to sleep I was back upto about 50 percent, all praise the magic sponge!!!!
Next day it's time to kick myself into action, no time to hang around in bed we've got things to see.
There were loads of other pagodas, frescos and buddahs dotted around the area and it's a great place to relax and zen out, but no time for that for us, things to do, things to do, things to do, and the next one is the post office, ( real tourist attraction ) to send our postcards then on to PP's highest point Wat Posomething, which was again really calming , monkeys, these ones with bright red bums everywhere, and little dragons poking their snouts from around bushes. On the top there is another pagoda where some important king dude is buried and also some good views !!!! It's free if you don't want to go in and disturb the dead king and only a dollar if you do, so it;s great value too!!!!
Last on our magical mystery tour is the Park de Royal, Raffles signature hotel and bar where at happy hour ( 5 - 8 ) it's 2 for 1 on the cocktail front, free chips and fantastic salsa and a dinner suited pianist ( yes pianist HA HA ) , so Ria and I played James Bond and Pussy galore over Singapore Slings and pretended this was the life we were used to for an hour.
Oh and then we went home to our 4 dollar a night room and got ready to leave for the NAM in the morning.....Charlie don't surf you know.
