It's a pelican crossing!!
They say this place is the poor mans Galapagos, well all I can say is that I'm glad we're nearing the end of our trip and so are well and truly skint because this place is fantastic !!!!!!!

We've seen some amazing sights on this trip but this one has got to be well up there on the highlights chart, possibly even making one of the medal positions. We were expecting to see some pelicans and boobies ( fnar fnar ha ha ha ha he he he ) and maybe a sea lion if we were lucky but we weren't prepared for the sheer number that we saw..............incredible, really unbelievable. There were literally millions of pelicans and boobies, Chilean vultures, cormaronts and other randoms on every rock possible ,and what was more exciting, that there were tons of Hombolt Penguins too .
what are you looking at????
They really do walk like they do on the old adverts for the choccy biscuits, we loved them, weird little things hopping around like nuns in a sack race !!!!!!!!!!

The Lions of the Sea were the biggest surprise though. Again we were expecting to see maybe a dozen , and halfway through the trip after we had seen this many we were happy with life, but then we came through the mist ( I forgot to say that, must be excited not to have set the scene properly.......so here we go, read this and start again..............it was a cool misty morning as our intrepid high class pleasure seekers left the safety of their poolside boudoir heading for the relative unknown of Paracas , our adventurous duo are pissing their pants with excitement at the prospect of a little wildlife spotting.

................ok there you go ...now where was I ...) blah blah blah boobies ...incredible.....nuns.......oh yeah the lions of the sea...right. So we came through the mist... ...... and into this bay and no kidding , there must have been nearly a thousand  slions lazing around, honking and barking at each other!!!! The noise was incredible, think of the person you know who can burp the loudest, multiply it by a thousand, add the braying of some big old donkeys, mix in the grunting of some deep throated pigs, and lastly some distant cow moo's , and you've got something approaching the wall of sound that came out of the mist from the hoard of mums, dads and baby slions lounging about, biting and playing with each other, absolutely incrediiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ble !!!!!!! The only down point of the whole trip is that now Ria wants a slion for her next birthday.
nice well fitting life jackets were available!!!
..............wonder if I could fit one in my turtle???????????

The day was over far too quickly and we returned to the harbour, but what an unreal day....how can we top that in the next few weeks???? We're off again tomorrow , heading north to try to jump into Equador via Lima, the beach is calling again, the skin's had far too much of an easy time and needs a good burn and more to the point what's the point of travelling round the world if you can't laze around on the beach and do nothing all day.............................. afterall we are on our moon of love!!!!!!!!!!
