Siliguri
Another day, another city and today we've woken up in Siliguri. After recharging on voddie and cuzza in Sikkim we're again up for what India can chuck at us!!!
We're in Siliguri cause it's a stop over between Sikkim and Calcutta, we're only staying one night and we're organised - we're staying at the mount View Hotel a fantastic option with massive clean rooms and a welcoming atmosphere according to the Lonely planet.....
What a load of shit, the staff are rude and they show us a cell, no windows, dirty linen and no bathroom and want 650 rupees for it,(all with a straight face)has the lonely planet even seen the places they write about, I think not!!! Fast losing faith in 'the bible!!!'
After tossing that gem back at them we head next door to the Patma hotel who showed us a big bright room, great bathroom, said we could stay till six the next evening and only wanted 250 for it - Have it!!
Added bonus that the best place to eat in Siliguri is also next door and we're on a winner. The Khana Khazana is fantastic , it has a courtyard and the food is amazing, fans blow cool air at you while your eating and the service was great, so good in fact we went back for lunch the next day too!!!
Okay, another night train coming up NJP to Calcutta, bring out your dead !!!
