Part 3 of the pleasure seeking vehicle,s diary and still the apostrophe is missing
We have spent the last couple of days in and around Rotorua and Taupo and it{s been another great few days. We,ve eaten some amazing steaks and seen some great things, the animals have ridden up front with us and we,ve done a hell of a lot of miles...ooops sorry kilometers, AND some of those were in fifth gear HONK HONK PARP PARP POOP POOP !!!! and guess what we saw some Kiwi,s and we touched one!!!
Yes, the kiwi thing was amazing, we headed into Rotorua and went to the Kiwi Encounter at Rainbow Springs, we were the only two people there and they let us touch one of the newly born Kiwis which they have never done before..How lucky are we ??? The whole experience was great they tell you all about the kiwis and how they help them at the centre then they take you on a tour and show you the nurseries , the pens etc.
..what they don{t usually do is let you touch them , but they let us, what weird creatures they are, huge compared to what you expect and very soft, weird to look at though and even stranger to watch them running!!!After the Kiwis we drove down to Hawke{s Bay stopping at Huka Falls ( Big, wide and deep ) and Oporto Falls ( long, thin and high ), then we got into Hawks{s Bay and stopped at Esk Valley Winery where the lady let us try 10 wines and we bought one and Crab Farm Winery where they had closed and so they didn{t let us try any but we still bought one. Hawkes Bay itself is a gross beach, all dirty rocks and the sand is black!!! The wine was good though and we cooked minty lamb which was also pretty good!! Also managed to get Bert stuck in the only hole on the campsite and he had to be pulled out by tractor, but he had had a very tiring day and covered 345 km!!!!!!!!!
Next day we headed into Napier Town and had a look around, what a great little town and everyone was really friendly, we bought some more amazingly cheap steak for tea , bought another bottle of vino from the Crab winery, went to the Honey Bee Experiencew in Taupo and drank honey Brandy, went to the Craters of theMoon park and walked amongst thermal pools and bubbling mud and booked into a great cazza park that had it{s own thermal pool where we swam at midnight after a huge reef and beef bbq supper, can life get much better???????????????????????
Day 5 and we only managed 176 km
