Living the life...
What a week we've had in KL. A real holiday in Luxury. Dave and Christy's apartment is amazing, our en suite bathroom is almost the size of the rooms we have been used to, and we've had hours of fun doing dolphin impressions in the pool, Ria's second home is the gym and when we get back it's tennis all the way - just got to get some shoes!!!! Now , wheres that layabout Jeeves buggered off to????????
KL is fantastic, an utter contrast to India, so clean and sparkling, with effort made everywhere to keep it looking nice and green. YES, there's grass here (the green springy stuff they play tennis on at Wimbledon not the green twiggy smoking variety hanging out of wannabees mouths) , I hadn't realised India was lacking in the turf department until we got here.
..god it's weird what you forget about!!!What have we been doing then? Well, most days have started very sadately, gradually waking up before a wonderful shower, breakfast and lots of coffee, a leisurely swim, then lunch with Dave and Christy before an afternoon of sightseeing or shopping, not quite the life we've been used to for the last three months!!!! The Petronas towers are awesome, and china town is great fun, loads of fabulous smells, smiling people and bargains!!! Friday we went to Dave and Christy's friends (Pete and Romona) house for an Argie Barbie ( Romonas Argentinian ), and we ate more meat in 3 hours than in the last three months, also drank more beer aswell so unsurprisingly the next morning began fairly late and painfully!!!!! All up and fairly compos by about 12 and Dave announces the start of todays magical mystery tour - lunch at Santinis at the base of the twin towers - lovely food and a few ginger beers knock the cobwebs away!!!! Next stop the Aquarium, we all loved it, we saw sea horses , stroked baby sharks, watched their parents being fed and travelled through an underwater perspex tunnel, watching all the fish darting around doing Moby Dick impressions - what a great place!!!! Oh and we got a new member of the family, Herbert the Pervert - a green and brown stuffed turtle.
..don't ask why he's called that!!!!Next stop on the mystery tour is strictly girls only - a trip to the salon. So while the girls are being washed, primped and blow dryed ( aswell as getting their hair done POOP POOP PARP PARP HEHE ) and their toes buffed and polished, we have a couple of sundowners on the balcony. Not a bad life is it???? ...................JEEVES more booze please!!!
Next up it's into our gladrags and we're off to the Shangri la Hotel for the Filipino Christmas Bash ( Christy is Filipino ), a very swish event complete with its own princess - Princess Becky some kind of Filipino royalty. A wedding was tacking place next door so we spent the first hour stealing beer untils the waiters caught on and banished us back to the Philipines!!!!! A very drunken night ensued with passable singers, a terrible comedian, Ria and Christy coming last in a dance comp and we all managed to steal souveniers - RESULT!!!
So it was 4 very trembly, quiet people who emerged the next afternoon ( last night ended around 4 ) for a lazy day of DVD's, Lasagna and couch potatoeing.
Yesterday , Monday turned out to be a holiday in Malaysia, so fully recharged after Saturdays festivities we're off out again, to the Genting Highlands for lunch and the casino ( Oh Yesh Mish Moneypenny!! ). Lunch is amazing, an oriental buffet, Windiebum, Malay, Japenese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Dirtyknees, you name it and all fan dabby dozzie!!! We eat until bursting then it's off to the casino where we're given Carribbean Stud Poker lessons, play a very strange Malaysian card game and then move onto the fruit machines where Ria soon wins 100 ringits -go girl - it's great fun, and we end the day ahead thanks mainly to Ria!!!
Tomorrow we're off to Bangkok ( the place not the activity!!!! HAHA ) for ten days, can't wait......WHERE DID IT ALL GO WRONG??????
