I forgot to say in the last blog we'd arranged a car for our road trip down south to Maggie's Riviera with a couple of stops along the way. It's a real beaut, the great white, no idea what make it is but it's well comfy and Pops has done a great job taming the beast and getting us down here!!!!! The first day we left Caream at about 11ish and headed down the freeway, first stop all the way to Scarborough for coffee!!!! Then back in the great white down to Pockingham where we took a break and had a quick dip in the ocean. A strange place Rockingham with it's refinery hanging into the water, they're obviously doing it up and i'm sure it'll look great in the end HA HA HE HE. No seriously it's quite nice AND we saw dolphins off in the distance ....AND.... a giant blue starfish!!!! Next stop of the day was in Binningup which was really nice AND wait for it we saw our first Roos.
And we did, it was fantastic and all for 85 bucks, that night we had a real ozzie barbie on the beach and some real ozzie grog from a goon.
Day 1 248km - DONE
Next day we were up early and heading out down the road, Busselton, for coffeee and a look around the historic jetty YAWN zZZZZZZZZZZZZZ , then onto Prevelly beach for a look see , then onto Maggie's Riv where on the way we saw shed loads of Roos ( alive and dead ) and booked into the Maggie River tourist Park, then out to Surfers Point for a gambol in the surf and Shiva Eye finding on the beach.
Day 2 167 km - DONE
Next day after a look around the shops we do our own mini wine tour , taking in Mongrels Creek ( old and not really open , but nice wine ), Marybrook ( welcoming but with horrible wine, and Maiolo ( fantastic with superb wine ) It was great fun but we now had a new plan and were heading up to the Pinnacles to show Chris who had never seen them. A big days driving was ahead so we stopped at the three wineries and then got on the road again, only stopping in Freeo for a quick nosh ( food , tucker , scram ) where Karen took over the driving and headed to Lancelin where we stayed the night. All i can say is I'm sure it doesn't smell that bad all year but boy did it stink while we were there!!!!!!
Day 3 - 500km - DONE
good work team!!!!!!!!!!!!!
